Mark Lamb was elected in 2003 to serve on the Bothell City Council and was elected Mayor by his fellow council members in January of 2006. Mayor Lamb is a board member of the Snohomish Health District and serves on the Finance, Public Safety, Public Outreach, and Economic Development committees of the Bothell City Council.
Mayor Lamb became involved with public service at a young age, constructing latrines and planting trees as a health care volunteer in the Dominican Republic while in high school. Later he was a founding member of Citizens for a Safe Snohomish County, a grassroots citizens group focused on improving county public services in the unincorporated areas of Snohomish County.
Currently Mayor Lamb is an attorney practicing in Bothell at The North Creek Law Firm. Prior to moving his practice to Bothell, Mayor Lamb was an attorney with the law firm of Preston Gates & Ellis in Seattle. He is licensed to practice law in both California and Washington State.
Mayor Lamb and his wife, Kim, live with their three children in the scenic North Creek Valley in Bothell. He is a fourth generation Washingtonian and grew up attending Seattle public schools with his three brothers. His parents recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. Mayor Lamb’s great grandparents were immigrants from Denmark who started a business in Seattle in the 19th Century near what is now Qwest Field.
Mayor Lamb is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Duke University where he graduated with honors. He was also a Rothermere Scholar at Oxford University (New College) in the summer of 1993.
